You can now top up your ARQ account with US dollars from your own Argentine bank account. The dollars you send arrive in your ARQ balance as digital dollars (USDc). Here’s how to do it step by step.
Rolling out now: this feature is being released gradually and requires ARQ app version 7.29.0 or above on iOS or 7.29.6 or above on Android. If you don’t see it yet, update your app and please wait. It will be available to you soon.
Important: you can only send from a US dollar account in your own name, registered under the same CUIT/CUIL you used to sign up for ARQ. Transfers from any other account, including a family member’s or a business account, will not be credited and will be returned.
Steps to top up your account with US dollars
Tap on "Add" on the home screen:
Open ARQ and tap on the Add button.
Choose "Dollars" (ARG bank transfer):
Choose this option to see the details for your transfer.
Copy the CBU or Alias that appears on the screen:
Tap on the CBU or Alias to copy it quickly and securely.
Make the transfer from your bank:
Send US dollars from your own US dollar account, under the same CUIT/CUIL as your ARQ account, to the CBU or Alias you copied.
Receive your digital dollars:
Once we receive your transfer, the US dollars are converted to digital dollars (USDc) and reflected in your ARQ balance.
Who can use this?
Customers with a residence address in Argentina.
Your account must be verified with your Argentine DNI and CUIT/CUIL.
The transfer must come from a US dollar account in your own name (same CUIT/CUIL as your ARQ account).
Is there a fee?
There’s no separate fee to top up. Bank transfers can take time to arrive, so your US dollars are converted to digital dollars at the conversion rate in effect when we receive your transfer. This rate may differ from the one you saw in the app before sending.
How long does the top-up take?
Most top-ups arrive within a few minutes.
Depending on your bank, it can take up to 24 hours.
Why does my bank show a different account holder name?
Your bank will show the account holder as Dolarapp Mexico Sa De Cv Se. This is normal: the CBU belongs to DolarApp México S.A. de C.V., which provides ARQ’s virtual asset services in Argentina and is registered with the CNV as a Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) under No. 92 (November 20, 2024). Your money is credited to your ARQ account as usual.
What happens if I send from an account that isn’t in my name?
For security and regulatory reasons, we can only accept US dollars from accounts in your own name. If the CUIT/CUIL of the sending account doesn’t match yours, we won’t credit your balance and we’ll return the money to the account it came from. The return can take up to 24 hours. If it takes longer, please contact customer support via the app and share your receipt.
